Victor Ruggles

October 4, 1952 — March 19, 2025

Victor P. Ruggles, artist, musician, pool payer and beloved family member, died at his home on March 19 after succumbing to cancer. Victor was born in San Francisco, CA on October 4, 1952 and spent most of his life in Marin and Sonoma Counties, where he earned a Bachelor’s in Art from Sonoma State University. Victor was a printmaker, illustrator, ceramicist, and framer of fine art. He also served in the Armed Forces in Germany during the Vietnam War.

After retiring to Santa Fe, he kept busy with his artwork and whimsical creations, playing the piano (lots of ragtime), taking care of his great-niece, and playing pool at the Senior Center, where he had a special group of friends.

He leaves behind his brothers, Stephen and David Ruggles, his niece and nephew, Amanda (Leonardo) and Andrew Ruggles and his great niece, Flavia Fernandez.

The family would like to thank his caregivers, especially Sarah and Elizabeth with Anvoi Hospice as well as Ivonne and Emiliano from Egis Home Health. Their compassion and care helped us through a difficult time.

Vic was a special guy, a true friend, and a gentleman. We will miss him. Please direct any donations to the re-opening of the Pool Room at the MEG.
