Viola Helen Arellano, age 87 passed away Wednesday, October 4, 2017 in Santa Fe. She was born in Los Angeles, California on August 15, 1930. Viola grew up and lived in California until 2005 when her and her husband moved to Santa Fe. She loved to sew and do cross stitch in her spare time. In California she was a phone operator, a bilingual aide, and secretary at the VA Hospital in Van Nuys, California. In Santa Fe, her and her husband became volunteers at the Food Pantry. They loved dancing and going to the casinos.
She is preceded in death by her parents Helen Romero and William Robles, brother William Robles Jr., and husband Salvador Arellano. She is survived by her sons Michael Arellano (Judy) and Vincent Arellano, daughter Helen Arellano (Luis Aragon), and grandsons Ryan and Erik Arellano and Christopher Homco.
A rosary will be recited on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at the Kiva Chapel at 7:00pm, with a mass the following day at Santa Maria de la Paz at 11:00am with burial to follow at 2:15pm at National Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Vincent Arellano, Luis Aragon, Christopher Homco, and Jake Aragon.
Cirilio Aragon is an honorary pallbearer.
