Viola M. Atencio, 75, a resident of Espanola, formerly of Pojoaque passed away on August 17, 2014. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Micaila Atencio; son, Daniel Baca; husband, Vicente Atencio; parents, Frank and Ramoncita Garcia of Pojoaque; her father and mother-in-law, Norberto and Mela Atencio; of Espanola, brothers, Jose Herminio, Ramon, Eloy and Frank Garcia; sisters, Lydia, Lydia M. Garcia; brothers-in-law, Charles Ortega, Felix Atencio, Jerry Davey, Victor Trujillo, Bobby Garcia, Don Rodriguez; sisters-in-law, Paula Garcia and Theresa Rivera. Mrs. Atencio is survived by her sons, Manuel Atencio (Toni), Kenny Atencio (Janice) and Adan Atencio; her daughter, Lisa Garcia of Espanola; grandchildren, Jennifer, Nina, Camilla, Antonio, and Vicente Atencio, Ryan Martinez, Senovia Atencio, Julian, Roxanne, Daniella, Aaron, great-granddaughter; Syniyah Gaston, brothers; Willie Garcia (Angie), Eddie Garcia of Santa Fe; Leandro (Molly), Ramos Garcia of Pojoaque. Sisters, Lorraine Davey of Santa Fe; Priscilla Garcia and Florence Rodriguez of Espanola; Socorro Trujillo, Petronila Lopez (Manuel), Rubanna Rodriguez (Larry), of Pojoaque, Berlin Solano (Manuel) of Las Vegas; Veronica Vigil (David) of Chimayo. A rosary was recited on Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at Rivera Family Funeral Home in Espanola. Mass of Christian Burial took place on Thursday, August 21, 2014 at Santa Cruz de la Canada Catholic Church in Santa Cruz. Interment followed at the Holy Cross Cemetery.
