Walter Anton Aigner born in Ried im Innkreiss, Austia on April 18, 1935 died in his home shortly after Christmas 2006. Father to Kresanna, 35, and Marcus, 33, residing in Scotland, grandpapa to Jacob and Taylor and brother to Josef Aigner. After completing a course in Hotel Management, Walter moved to Bermuda when he was 21, where he worked as a waiter and also entertained guest playing the piano. Following his nose for a good ski slope he moved to Stowe, Vermont, there he turned his hand to construction. In 1970 he met Maggie and married and had Kesanna and Marcus. Walter left the construction business due to a back injury. After his divorce from Maggie, and as full time provider of the children he turned his eye to antique dealing and a variety of creative business ventures. Kresanna and Marcus moved to Scotland in their teens to spend time with their mother, this was an opportunity for Walter to move on and with a love for the arts and skiing settle in Taos, NM with his beloved dogs. He then had time to further explore his creative talents. His neighbors nicknamed him "10X12" or fondly "Pitbull" because of the unusual house he built and his determined personality. Walter Aigner an incredibly independent mans who never gave up on his quest for adventure, new discoveries and the desire to develop and turn his hand to many skills and crafts. We know he found contentment in Taos and was very much at home here. He has left behind a family that will always have constant love, admiration and respect for all that he was and achieved in his life. After a lifetime of travels we hope he finds peace in his final place of rest. The family would also like to thank friends and neighbors for the support and love they have shown him.
Upon Walter's request there will be no formal memorial service and his body was cremated. However, his children would like to extend an invitation to friends and neighbors to join us for an informal ski, meet at the St. Bernard's by the fire place on Saturday, January 13, 2007 at noon and followed by an evening drink at the Taos Inn between 6-8 PM in celebration of his life.
