WARREN "HOWARD" ADAMS Died February 3, 2008 at the Los Alamos Medical Center. Howard was born March 11, 1924 in Arnold, Nebraska, the son of Arthur Henry and Lillian Grace Johnson Adams. He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Jane Yvonne Gipe and Lorna Belle Adams, 3 grandchildren: Erkia Christine Adams, Jakob Dalton Adams, and Mark Lee Morrison. Howard is survived by his wife, Norma Dalton Adams, a brother, Arthur Robert Adams of Douglas, WY; his children, David Howard Adams of Highland, UT, Kurt Alan Adams of Los Alamos, Aimee Lee Morrison of Los Alamos, Rebecca Gaisford of West Valley, UT; 10 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren Howard served with the U.S. Army during World War II in the European Theater where he sustained multiple bullet wounds and was a POW in Germany. He received a Purple Heart. Following the war. He completed his college education with a MS degree in Chemistry at the University of Nevada, Reno in 1950. He then worked at the Hanford Atomic Facility in Richland, WA from 1950 to 1958. He came to Los Alamos in 1958 where he worked at Los Alamos National Lab until his retirement in 1985. He loved scouting and served 10 years as a Scoutmaster of LDS troop 222. He served as chairman and staff member of the district scouting committee for many years. He has been an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served in many capacities, including a 7 ½ year mission with his wife Norma in the Mesa, Arizona Temple. Howard was fun loving and a bright spot at any gathering. We will all miss him, but look forward to a reunion in a happier place. A funeral Service will be conducted at 1:00 PM Saturday, February 9, 2008 at the Latter-Day Saints Ward Church, 366 Grand Canyon in White Rock, NM.
