Wayne L. Hatley, Sr. 91 of Lindrith, NM. Died peacefully on Sunday July 27, 2008 in Espanola. He was brought to New Mexico in a covered wagon, at the age of 2 years old. He served in the Army Air Corps 459th fighter squadron on the Burma front. For over 70 years he was a minister at The Lindrith Church of Christ. Together, for over 30 years, he and his wife, Flora owned & operated The Lindrith Oil Company. Wayne also retired as a school bus contractor for the Jemez Mountain School District. He enjoyed ranching, farming as well as country living. He was preceded in death by his parents Ernest and Sally Hatley, sister Daphna Burch, brother William G. Hatley, and grandson Brannon Hatley. He is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years Flora L. Hatley, sons: Wayne Hatley, Jr. and wife Kate of Lindrith, Lynn Hatley of Lindrith, and Jerry Hatley and wife Debbie of Albuquerque, grandchildren: Tonya Gallegos and husband Eddy of Lindrith, Drue Hatley of Flora Vista, NM., Toni Skinner and husband Terrance of Tennessee, and Jeri Kay Hollan and husband Scott of Albuquerque, great grandchildren: Dillon Gibson, Rusty Hatley, Cassidy Gallegos, Presley Maez, Jackson Hollan and Daylan Skinner, and great great-granddaughter Ava Gibson, numerous nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. A funeral service will be held on Thursday July 31 at 10:00 am at The Lindrith Church of Christ in Lindrith, NM., with Minister Cecil Burch of The North Amarillo Church of Christ officiating. Interment to follow at The Lindrith Cemetery. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the funeral service.
