Whitney Ann Russell

Whitney Ann Russell, age 48, was called to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on August 24, 2011. Whitney was taken from us as a result of a tragic automobile accident on the outskirts of Española. Whitney is survived by her daughter, Teresa I. Duran of Charleston, South Carolina; mother Yvonne T. Russell, father Richard L. Russell and wife Hildegard, all of Santa Fe; older sister, Leslie Ellen Savoye and husband of Washington Township Michigan; Grandmother Anna Russell of Albuquerque, uncles, Elmer Lee Russell and wife Nellie of Chesapeake, Virginia and William Robert Russell and wife Elaine of Albuquerque, and aunt Geraldine Marko of Chicago, Illinois, as well as numerous cousins in New Mexico, Virginia and Pennsylvania, many friends and her significant other, Clarence Vigil. We all will mourn her loss. The family of Whitney wishes to thank the Española Police Department; the Española Hospital and the Rivera Family Funeral Home for their many courtesies and compassion during this difficult time. A memorial service will be held at St. Bede's Episcopal Church, located in Santa Fe at 1601 South St. Francis Drive, on Saturday October 1st at 2:00 p.m. Celebrant will be the Reverend Duncan Jay Lanum. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions in Whitney's name be made to Santa Fez Shrine Club; Gideon's International, Santa Fe Camp or the Santa Fe Recovery Center.
