Bill was born in Quanah, TX in 1930 to Dewey and Augusta Marsh. The family lived in a number of Texas communities, and he graduated high school in Houston. Bill served honorably in the USAF during the Korean War. He moved to New Mexico where he met and married his wife of 60 years, Dorene.
Bill worked for the NM State Police and later for LANL where he held a high-level security clearance and worked in several departments. He enjoyed building and repairing things and was wonderfully skilled at both. In retirement, he enjoyed playing golf, traveling, and spending time with family. He expressed gratitude to the Los Alamos community, and all who took good care of him, especially his incredible caretaker, Anna Apodaca.
He was preceded in death by his son William Marsh II, his parents Dewey and Augusta, and his brothers Dewey Jr and Keith and Keith’s wife, Betty.
Bill is survived by his wife Dorene, his daughter ZeeAnn, grandchildren Nikita Kane, Zachary Kane (wife Liz), Paul Marsh, and Jacob Marsh. He is also survived by his great-grandson Deacon Kane.
Please feel encouraged to share stories of Bill’s life, photographs, and condolences for the family to cherish.
