Willie C. Vigil

Willie C. Vigil age 82 of Nambe, NM. died peacefully on Saturday January 30, 2010 at his residence after a short illness. He was born and raised in Cundiyo, NM. and served in the U.S. armed forces. He was a lifetime member of the Fraternal Order of Elks, was an avid fisherman and enjoyed taking care of his cattle. He was preceded in death by his parents Tiofilo and Eliza Vigil, Wife Lucille Vigil, Brothers, Elizardo"Lalo" Vigil, Nelson Vigil, and sisters Mini Aguirre and Maxine Duarte. He is survived his loving companion of 22 years Corrine Lucero, Sisters, Elsie Carrigan and husband Ron, Betty Gronewald and husband David, Presilla Donaldson and Ida Bonnett as well many loving nieces and nephews. Public visitation will be on Friday February 5th at 11:00 a.m. with the recitation of the rosary starting at 11:30 a.m. in the chapel at Rivera Family Funeral Home. Interment will follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. with military honors. Asisting the family as pallbearers will be Steve, Thomas and Kevin Vigil, Larry and Luis Flores, Isaac and David Cordova and Richard Chang. Honorary pallbearers will be Eloy Lucero, Frankilino, Toby and Marvin Vigil, David Trujillo, Flavio Cordova, Trudy Padilla and all of his friends a the Santa Fe Fraternal Order of Elks Lodge 460.
