Zenovio Joe Medina, passed away unexpectedly on December 31, 2020. He is preceded in death by his loving wife and best friend of 52 years, Maria Chavez Medina, his parents, Juan Manuel and Adelina Medina and his beautiful granddaughter, Patricia Medina.
Zenovio was always very creative, talented and energetic and was always ready to lend a helping hand. He was a youth basketball coach for the St. Francis School basketball team. He started working in the kitchen at a very young age as a dishwasher and worked his way up to executive chef. He also worked at the Moly Mine in Questa. Eventually he returned to working in the kitchen and became the proud owner of The Ranchos Plaza Grill for the past 20 years.
He was very strong in his faith and was an Hermano and member of La Fraternidad Piadosa de Nuestro Padre Jesus Nazareno, in Ranchos de Taos, and was a rector for the pilgrimage for vocations for many years.
He is survived by his mother-in-law, Andreita Chavez, daughter, Christine (Chris), sons, Thomas (Lori), Adam Z (Raelynn) and John Gilbert (Sandy), grandchildren, Alexandra (Ray), Isaiah (Alanis), Tomas, Brianna (JC), Alyssa (Daniel), Adam (Jewel), Alejandro (Rena), Marisol, and Santiago, great grandchildren, Kiara, Aarym, Roslyn and Mariaelena, brothers, Jose, Jackie (Helen), Manuel (Darlene), Howard and Abraham (Nancy), sisters, Maria, Helen, and Loren, good friends, Eugene Chavez and Ray Griego and many nieces, nephews, God children, cousins and friends.
