Zorica Matulic, nee Zorica Vasiljevic began her life journey in 1931 in Kraljevo, Former Yugoslavia. Her journey completed in Taos, New Mexico 16 August 2021. She touched many with her kindness and generosity, and her strong will and ability to overcome adversity, of which there was plenty. Somehow she found the strength to rise above the deep pain of her human experience and always found the good in her fellow human. She shared a deeply committed marriage with her husband Rusko for over 65 years and now she is reunited with him, with Nick their beloved grandson and with her loving sister Lou. Zorica was passionate about books and in her prime resurrected the library at the public school her daughters attended in Jersey city, New Jersey eventually becoming the school librarian. Long after she retired folk would stop her on the street to express how she sparked a love of reading in them as children. Her other passion was knitting and many of us are blessed to be the recipients of her beautiful creations which continue to wrap us in her love. She touched many lives with her quiet dignity, grace and largess of spirit. Zorica kept in loving touch with family far across the globe reminding us that although we are separated by geography the heart holds us close. She will be deeply missed by her two daughters Maya and Yelena (Ona), her niece, Vesna and nephew Tim, and grand nieces, Natalie and Sophie and families, cousins, Lillian and Angela, her brother in law Jonathan and many relatives and dear friends.
Peace be the journey dear Zorica.
